New Toyota Pure Electric Car For India; Will Be Co-Developed With Suzuki

The Indian subsidiaries of Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation are developing a platform for all-electric cars in anticipation of the government making a strong push for electric vehicles.

Toyota intends to introduce a fully electric vehicle in the Indian market, according to a recent media report. Its testing is anticipated to start sometime in 2019. The automaker is currently quite active with its component engineering. A joint venture between Toyota and Suzuki will be used to create the next Toyota electric vehicle. The EV’s details are currently lacking.

With the brand-new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Japanese carmaker is preparing to enter the mid-size SUV category. The car, which was jointly designed with Suzuki, will debut on July 1 and go on sale in August or September of 2022. The company has already stated that the next SUV will be powered by a hybrid system. Suzuki’s 1.5L K15C Dualjet gasoline engine with mild and powerful hybrid technology is probably going to be included.

According to reports, the Toyota Hyryder mild hybrid version will provide 103 horsepower and 137 Nm of power. Its powerful hybrid version will be capable of 115 horsepower. Three transmissions will be available: a 6-speed torque converter automatic, an e-CVT, and a 6-speed manual. It’s interesting that only the powerful hybrid version will have the e-CVT automatic transmission available. FWD and AWD system options will be offered for the upcoming Toyota mid-size SUV. The latter is only available with the powerful hybrid version.

R.C. Bhargava, the chairman of Maruti, stated in October that the business would only enter the electric mobility market after 2025 because there is now little demand for such cars. When it does enter the market, the automaker expects to sell about 10,000 units each month.

Recent teaser footage reveals that the new Toyota SUV will have a dual-tone dashboard made of brown and black leather with silver accents. It might use the infotainment system from the new Maruti Baleno hatchback’s higher specification. Other features that might be available include a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, rear air vents, a digital instrument panel, cruise control, and an electronic stability program.

The revised Toyota Urban Cruiser sub-4 meter SUV will be available with the brand-new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in the upcoming months.
