Mahindra and Mahindra has announced its upcoming XUV500 has been officially called XUV700. The Company has also confirmed that the upcoming XUV700 will launch in June-July of this year. XUV700 was earlier planned to be launched in the first half of 2021 but the launch has been delayed by few months due to global shortage.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will be positioned against the like of MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and upcoming Hyundai Alcazar. The XUV is expected to get updated version of engine that recently debuted on the Mahindra Thar and that is 2.0-liter turbo petrol with 190ps and the 2.2-liter diesel with close 190ps with Six speed manual and six-speed torque-converter.
The New XUV700 will be designed and developed on the new front wheel drive platform and it will grow in size which means more space inside the cabin and more legroom in the second and third row and key features will include a large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument console, dual zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with push button to start or Stop.
The XUV700 should be priced between RS 15 to 23 Lakhs, ex showroom.
