Suzuki WagonR Smile Design and Features – The WagonR Smile boasts a boxy design with a minivan-like outlook. The car looks quite impressive and cute. The front face has a pair of big and small round headlamps, a chrome grille, and a Suzuki logo in the middle. The front ‘smiling’ face design is due to a partition in the air dam with the two front round headlamp units similar to the eyes of the human face. The rear side has vertically stacked tail lamps and a flat roofline. The Smile is also available with attractive dual-tone color options.
The interior of the car is clean and with an uncluttered layout. It has many features onboard. The boxy design of the Smile makes the interiors spacious. The gear lever placement is on the dashboard that further increases space in the cabin. The Smile has a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation features. It also has steering-mounted controls. The dashboard gets a dual-tone theme as well.
The Suzuki WagonR Smile comes with additional features. These include under-seat storage, numerous upholstery options, and an old-school analog instrument binnacle with a small multi-information display.
Furthermore, to make the car stand out from the crowd, the buyers also get customization packages. It includes alloy wheels, body kits, decals, roof rails, and other accessories.
Suzuki WagonR Smile Engine – WagonR Smile has a 657cc three-cylinder, 12 valves, DOHC (Dual overhead cam engines) naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engine delivers a peak power output of 47 Bhp at 6,500 rpm and a max torque of 58 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The Smile has a CVT transmission only with no manual gearbox option.
However, the buyers can opt between FWD (Front Wheel Drive) and AWD (All Wheel Drive) layouts. The Smile has three variants. The high spec trim will come with a mild-hybrid engine and a lithium-ion battery pack.
Conclusion – Innovation is the name of the game to survive in a fiercely competitive personal car market. Customers are demanding more exciting and unique features to personalize their cars and be different from others. Auto majors like Suzuki have always risen to the occasion and met customer expectations. If the Wagon R Smile is successful in Japan, it may soon be available in other markets also.
